Introduction

Some comic book characters were created as a dramatic statement about many things happening in the world. Editorial cartoons use caricatures, representations of political leaders in which the subject's distinctive features are deliberately exaggerated to produce a comic effect. Superheros are imaginary people, often with secret identities. Both help us better understand the world around us, but superheros were made to help us feel safe and caricatures were made to make us think more about our decisions.
